David is a scholarly and knowledgeable leader who demonstrates a wide range of executive and financial strengths. He is an active partner with health and service organizations, providing direction and advice to help groups realize their greater potential. His ability to offer guidance to organizations is reinforced by his comprehension of the challenges they face.

At the University of Rochester, David is currently a special advisor to the CEO of the University’s Medical Center. He is also a professor of public health sciences at the School of Medicine and Dentistry and executive professor of healthcare management in the Simon Business School.

He is an independent director and authority for:

    • Landmark Health (an organization that creates and manages home visitation by multi-disciplinary medical groups for complex, chronically ill patients)
    • Avalon Healthcare Solutions (a laboratory benefits management company)
    • Cogito (a call center management software company)
    • NextHealth Technologies (a cost containment optimization company)
    • CompanionMx (a behavioral health telemonitoring company)
    • Orthometrics (a technology-enabled musculoskeletal injury risk management company)
    • CTG (an information technology services and solutions company)

David is also an advisor to private equity fund groups including Health Catalyst Capital Management, LLC, Cressey and Company, and Triple Tree Capital Partners.

David served as Chief Executive Officer to The Lifetime Companies, a $6 billion diversified healthcare company with health insurance and healthcare delivery operations. Lifetime was comprised of Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, Univera Healthcare, Lifetime Health Medical Group, Lifetime Care (home care agency), EBS-RMSCO Benefit Solutions (benefits consulting firm and third-party administration) and MedAmerica (long term care insurance company). Prior to that, he was an executive with the national BlueCross BlueShield Association and Health Care Services Corporation and served as director of the national Blue Cross Blue Shield Association and America’s Health Insurance Plans.

David holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a BA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He serves on the Board of Directors for PNT Data Corp. He is a non-executive chair of the New York eHealth Collaborative for New York State’s health information exchange and a member of the Johns Hopkins University Carey School of Business Healthcare Advisory Board.

Charles is a seasoned financial professional with experience growing companies in fast-paced environments, improving financial performance of troubled enterprises, and structuring complex transactions. His expertise in the fields of design and implementation of accounting/finance and administrative systems, budgets, forecasting and management reporting tools, capital fund raising, expense management, and executing business plans to profitability has helped support and build many struggling and fledgling organizations.

In his position at Longwood Associates, Charles provides services to investor-financed and family-owned companies that require additional business expertise. In this capacity, he brings the disciplines of CFO, Board Member, and/or Business Advisor to each respective organization.

Charles has served as the CFO for The Merallis Company where he managed all aspects of accounting, finance and capital fundraising. In that capacity he defined financial reporting structures across the organization into key functional departments to improve autonomy and fiscal efficiency, revised the corporate financial plan and reduced projected expenses by 30% while maintaining expected revenue growth, and negotiated and managed all aspects of $9,500,000 in equity capital fund-raising to finance national sales and marketing initiatives. His successful work with PQC, Inc. and Medical Claims Management (another organization he founded), helped increase revenue and greatly improve profitability.

Charles has an MBA in Finance and Business Policy from the Kellogg School of Northwestern University, a BS in Accountancy from Bentley College, and is a Certified Public Accountant. He serves on the Board of Directors for PNT Data Corp.

Ellen is a solutions-oriented innovator with a proven record for developing and managing large-scale, cross-functional projects from concept through execution. She collaborates with customers and business units to build integrated teams that deliver comprehensive and meaningful results. She is inspirational in her ability to leverage her leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills to address business trends and create solutions for value-based, technology-enabled, performance improvement.

In her current role at Connected Healthcare Strategies, LLC, Ellen provides strategic planning and business development to organizations to build the foundation for transition from revenue cycle management to value-based delivery and reimbursement models. She has advised the organization on strategy and business development solutions to engage physicians in transitioning to value-based clinical workflows. She recently developed and implemented a program for attracting innovators and entrepreneurs from across the country to formulate ideas into actionable plans, prototypes, and pilots focused exclusively on healthcare and medical devices.

Previously, as the Executive Director of the Executive MBA program at Yale’s School of Management, Ellen firmly established the program’s reputation for excellence so that within five years, The Economist ranked it fifth nationally and tenth globally. She has also held executive positions in the health insurance industry, namely as Director of Strategy and Development for Health Net of the Northeast and as National Lead of Provider Services at Cigna. She was also the Director of Managed Care and Business Development for the Yale Medical School Faculty Practice where, during her tenure, practice revenue more than doubled through her directed execution of a number of business ventures that provided expanded clinical services to a broader population

Ellen holds an MBA in Public and Private Management from Yale University and a BA from Southern Connecticut State University. She is on the Audit Committee of CHNCT and Health Access’s Advisory Groups, SHOP and Health Benefits. She serves on the Boards of Directors for PNT Data Corp. and Women Executives in Healthcare.

Paraic Sweeney

Paraic is a retired IBM executive with extensive expertise in the systems and software industry. With more than 30 years of experience at IBM, he has held a variety of international positions in the US and Europe, which included managing product development, product marketing, and consulting.

Paraic’s professional focus is the infrastructure for transaction management, ecommerce, and information management. His work in the areas of product line planning, acquisition integration, and staff development have been at the core of his industry and business experience. Paraic is currently a mentor at the Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH) in Brooklyn, New York.

At IBM, Paraic was responsible for product management of master data and data integration product lines, led marketing for their portfolio of application integration and connectivity products, and directed Internet marketing and software distribution programs. He also launched the product marketing and strategic positioning for IBM’s leading B2B software brand – WebSphere.

Paraic has a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) degree from University College Dublin, National University of Ireland, in the fields of information systems, business law, and economics. He serves on the Board of Directors for PNT Data Corp.
